Test of Irrigation Systems in Crimea

Landkom International PLC (AIM: LKI, 'Landkom' or the 'Company'), the Ukrainian producer of high-value oil seed rape and wheat, is collaborating with Lindsay Corporation ('Lindsay') (NYSE: LNN) on the development of world class irrigation systems to optimise the performance of its land.

Lindsay is providing a test centre pivot irrigation system with irrigation management expertise on Landkom's prime agricultural land in the Crimea. This will allow the Company to supply water, fertilizer and chemicals directly onto the land through an irrigation system as the crop requires.

This system optimises growing conditions, increases yields and reduces input costs including machinery, energy and labour. It also decreases crop damage as there is no need for tractors to work the land between planting and harvesting.

The existing test unit, which covers a 64 hectare plot, provides over 90% efficiency for inputs optimisation.

Richard Spinks, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"We are very excited about this partnership with Lindsay which has the potential to maximise yields and income on our land in Crimea. This is part of our continuing drive to create first class intensive farming on some of the most fertile arable land in the world."
