FoodAfter steel, agriculture is the second largest export product of Ukraine, making it one of the world’s leading grain exporters. Although Landkom principally sells to grain traders and does not control the end user, a large portion of the Group’s output has end uses for food for humans or food for animals, which will in turn provide food for humans. Demand for food is increasing both in terms of absolute global population requirements but also due to changing dietary preferences as global prosperity increases and meat consumption increases. Supply is increasing through the restitution of formerly derelict land such as Landkom is doing but investment and good quality land is in limited supply. Increased volatility of global weather patterns also give the potential to disrupt the supply side. With its high operational gearing, Landkom is well set to benefit from increases in commodity pricing. Below are listed Landkom’s core crops together with their food uses.
